On January 14, 2020, Bristol County Savings Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Freedom National Bank, Greenville, Rhode Island, pursuant to which Freedom National Bank will be merged with and into Bristol County Savings Bank.

Luse Gorman is serving as legal counsel to Bristol County Savings Bank in the transaction. The Luse Gorman team consists of Lawrence M.F. Spaccasi, Scott Brown, Max Seltzer and Ellie Cook.

Bristol County Savings Bank, founded in 1846, is a full-service banking institution with approximately $2.3 billion in total assets.  Bristol County Savings Bank currently operates 20 branch offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Freedom National Bank has total assets of approximately $123.0 million.  Freedom National Bank operates as a full-service community bank through two branch offices located in Greenville and Cumberland, Rhode Island.
