On August 25, 2026, Gulf Winds Credit Union, Pensacola, Florida, announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Madison County Community Bank, Madison, Florida, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Madison Community Bancshares Corporation.
Gulf Winds Credit Union has more than $1.3 billion in assets and serves approximately 75,000 members across 12 full-service branches throughout Florida and Alabama.
Madison County Community Bank has approximately $200 million in assets and operates two branches in Madison and Perry, Florida.
